Ransom McClung has an extensive background in investigating and auditing university operations. Ransom retired after 15 years at Florida State University in May 2010 as the Director of Investigations and Audits in the Office of Audit Services at FSU. Prior to working at FSU, Ransom worked for over 10 years as an auditor/investigator with the Florida Board of Regents’ Inspector General’s Office. Ransom previously worked as a state auditor and worked in public accounting.
He has his M.S. in criminology from Florida State University and is currently a faculty member within the Accounting Department at FSU’s College of Business and teaches several undergraduate accounting & finance courses. He has presented fraud-related topics to various organizations including the Association of College and University Auditors, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Southeastern Association of Colleges, and University Business Officers, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, local chapters of The Institute of Internal Auditors, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Association of Government Accountants, to name a few.
